Alain Nkurikiye was born in Burundi and graduated with his Economics degree in the Netherlands. At the highly-anticipated Big Improvement Day (BID) 2019, he achieved the first step of his dream to launch a diaspora investment platform called Wajenzi. Through a competition organized by the Municipality of The Hague, he was able to garner the publics’ prize (E2,500) as well as the main prize in his category (E15,000). With a clear goal in his mind, he will use the prize to pilot his platform in Ghana. Over the past year, Alain worked on a consultancy-based contract at IOM The Netherlands to conduct a diaspora mapping of Rwandans in the Netherlands. As IOM NL, we would like to congratulate Alain on his achievements and wish him good luck with his future endeavors.
