ED4D: Entrepreneurship by Diaspora 4 Development:
Our ED4D project has formally ended per 31 December 2020

The ED4D project aimed at encouraging the Ghanaian and Ethiopian diasporas residing in the Netherlands, or Dutch entrepreneurs in partnership with the diaspora, to engage themselves as entrepreneurs for the development of the private sector in Ghana and Ethiopia. The project was implemented by IOM in collaboration with PUM (Netherlands Senior Experts).

With this project, IOM and PUM addressed the different challenges the diaspora face when wanting to set up businesses and act as facilitators and coordinators at the service of the selected entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs were offered assistance in their journey to start up or expand businesses back home. More concretely, interested entrepreneurs received information about investment opportunities and procedures in Ghana or Ethiopia. A selected group of entrepreneurs benefited from training and coaching. Also, guidance was provided towards potential funding mechanisms.

Ms Andy Wehkamp (PUM) and Mr Antonio Polosa (IOM) sign the cooperation agreement between IOM and PUM
